User-centered design is not only about making one good product. It’s about making something good for many people: Success = (∑ positive impact - ∑ negative impact) × ∑ users. Webcentered design not only understands this, but might very well exploit it. Learn the activity, and the tools are understood. That’s the mantra of the human-centered design community. But this is actually a misleading state-ment, because for many activities, the tools define the activity. Maybe the reality is just the converse:
