When Acrobat encounters transparency in a PDF file it switches to CMYK rendering mode thus causing the colors to appear slightly different. There is no off switch for this behavior in Acrobat. The solution is to set an RGB output intent on the PDF file.

WebAug 25, 2016 · Two different computers at work do successfully create the PDFs in 8.5 x 11 format, and they both have Office 2010 instead of my 2007, and they have Adobe 10.1.0 instead of my Adobe 10.1.3. So I reverted my Adobe to 10.1.0 and upgraded my Office to 2010, but my PDF files still get saved as larger than 8.5 x 11 :(. I might just have to give up! It's usually a small image, less than half the size of a credit card. The right and bottom sides are always chopped off. Text is fine as per print preview. You can easily test if it's a word problem or printer issue by printing it using a virtual pdf printer or the xps writer.

Conversely, I believe that it handles conversions from Adobe RGB to the iPad's screen very well indeed, so you'd be highly recommended to find a way to adjust how you're outputting your PDFs or to find a tool that can do a conversion after the fact.
